Privacy & Safety
Last updated 22 October 2026 · FelixRay Pty Ltd, Australia
In short: Mishi and Buddy only listen while you are in a conversation you started. We don’t keep recordings or transcripts, we don’t sell data, there are no ads, and there are no accounts.
What happens when you talk
When you tap Start talking, your voice is streamed securely to our voice partner (OpenAI) so the pet can understand you and reply in real time. Sessions are created with storage turned off, and we do not save audio or transcripts on our servers. When you tap End, close the app, or switch away, the microphone stops.
What stays on your device
- Your chosen name, who is talking (child / adult / older adult), language, theme and motion settings.
- A random install number, used only to apply fair-use limits. It is not linked to your name, phone number or any account.
Your name and the “who is talking” choice are sent with each voice session so the pet can greet you and speak appropriately. You can change or clear them any time in Settings.
What our server keeps
Only counters needed to keep the service fair and affordable — for example how many minutes an install number used today. These expire automatically within two days. We keep no conversation content.
Children
Mishi & Buddy can be used by children with a parent or guardian. A grown-up should complete the first-time setup and stay nearby. In child mode the pets use simple, gentle language, avoid grown-up topics, never ask for personal details, and encourage children to talk to a trusted adult about anything worrying. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Older adults and wellbeing
The pets are friendly companions, not medical, legal or emergency services. If someone mentions an emergency or feeling unsafe, the pets encourage contacting family, a doctor or emergency services. In Australia call 000; elsewhere use your local emergency number.
AI characters
Mishi and Buddy are AI characters. Their replies are generated automatically and can occasionally be wrong. They do not remember past conversations after a session ends.
Microphone permission
The app asks for microphone access only so you can talk. You can turn it off any time in your device settings; the app will still open, but conversations won’t start.
